Humans are far too complex
to utilize a ‘one size fits all’ approach to therapy.
Change can & will happen!
My approach to therapy
My Master’s level training for Mental Health Counseling exposed me to a wide range of treatment approaches. The backbone of my approach consists of three theories: Existential, Person-Centered, and Cognitive Behavioral. Humans are far too complex to utilize a ‘one size fits all’ approach to therapy. My approach to treatment affords me the ability to custom tailor my treatment to your needs. Over time, we will learn what kind of person you are as well as what kind of learner you are; from there we will utilize therapy approaches that resonate with you.
Our rapport and therapeutic relationship are essential elements of your therapy arc.
Your time and existence between sessions is equally important. Through our work
together, we will find ways to connect our insights from session work to your
everyday life. I cannot tell you how excited I become when clients say to me “Matt!
The other day I caught myself ruminating about…” At this point, the shift has begun,
and change is happening!
